Day 4
‘’Soil-Friendly
Projects” 🌱
The fourth day of the “Environmentalist
in the Virtual Universe” Erasmus+ project focused on teamwork, creativity,
and research. During a 60-minute activity titled “Soil-Friendly Projects,”
students explored the important elements that make soil healthy and productive.
Participants were divided into three
groups, each representing a different “soil hero” responsible for
protecting and enriching the soil ecosystem.
Group 1 – Team
Minerals 🪨
The first group, Team Minerals,
focused on the role of minerals in soil. Students researched how
minerals influence soil structure, nutrient availability, and plant growth.
During their short presentation,
they introduced their “superhero” representing minerals and explained how these
elements support plants by providing essential nutrients and helping maintain
soil balance.
Group 2 – Team
Critter 🐛
The second group, Team Critter,
explored the fascinating world of living organisms in the soil. Their
research focused on creatures such as worms, insects, and microorganisms
that play a key role in maintaining soil health.
Students explained how these small
but powerful organisms help break down organic matter, improve soil
aeration, and support nutrient cycling. Their superhero symbolized the
invisible workers that keep soil alive.
Group 3 – The
Compost 🌿
The third group, The Compost,
focused on organic matter and its importance for soil fertility.
Students researched how compost enriches the soil, improves its structure, and
helps retain water and nutrients.
In their presentation, they
introduced a superhero representing compost and organic materials, showing how
natural recycling processes help create healthy and sustainable soil
ecosystems.
Presentations
and Knowledge Sharing 📊
Each group spent 40 minutes
researching their topic and preparing their ideas. Afterwards, they
presented their five-minute presentations, introducing their soil
superhero, its characteristics, and its positive impact on soil health.
Module on
Sustainable Agriculture 🌾
The day concluded with a short
presentation on the “Module on Sustainable Agriculture.”
The presentation was prepared by the teachers and presented by students Jana
and Andrej.
They explained the basic
principles of sustainable farming, highlighting practices that protect
soil, support biodiversity, and ensure long-term food production while
minimizing environmental impact.
Learning
Through Collaboration 🤝
Day 4 allowed students to deepen
their understanding of soil ecosystems while developing research,
presentation, and teamwork skills. By discovering the different “heroes”
that protect soil — minerals, living organisms, and organic matter —
participants learned that healthy soil depends on a balanced and
interconnected system.
The activities reminded everyone
that protecting soil is not only the responsibility of scientists or farmers — it
is a shared responsibility for all of us. 🌍🌱
